Some have had success with postcard marketing, but my experience was not great.

1. Paying postage.
2. Having to put the stamps on the postcards prior to mailing.
3. The address list was not accurate, so there was plenty of bounce back and returned postcards.
4. Low to no contacts or calls from the mailings

After getting your site up and running you might want to consider monitizing it.  There are affiliate programs that allow you to promote products and services that your target audience might be interested in.  Popular affiliate programs include Google Adsense, Clickbank, E-junkie, Commission Junction and many more.

Most affiliate programs allow you to put banner or text ads on your website.  Be sure to check the payment arrangements ( frequency of payments, minimum dollar amounts to get paid, and the methods of payment - paypal, check, etc ).

Getting started with an affiliate program usually only takes a few minutes.  Create good content on your website. Drive traffic to your site and promote products and services that your readers and clients will find useful.
