Starting a new internet venture can be fun.  You don't know where you are going to take it but you want to deliver some value to your clients and you want to get something in return.  The web is filled with all kinds of crazy information and topics so you will have to find a way to make your stuff stand out.  That is where the marketing comes in.  How do you get started with marketing your site?

Free marketing methods usually come to mind first.  They don't cost you out of the pocket, but they might turn into a long term passive income generator.  Writing articles, making videos and other link bait to get people to come to your website or blog is usually what this entails.

Writing takes a lot of your time and you might not be the greatest writer in the world.  You may want to get that kind of work outsourced to someone else.  The internet brings together people from all over the world, so you should be able to find good quality writing without having to spend an arm and a leg to get it done.

One of the reasons people love internet ventures is that internet business can be conducted from just about anywhere and you might not have to have face to face contact to make sales.  There are plenty of people that want to do business without having to be tied to a job to earn money.

Your internet web pages are your salespeople.  They provide the information on the solutions that your clients want and desperately need right now.  Solutions are what people are searching for.  Think about when you have a problem.  What is the first thing that you do?  Do you go to the internet and type in a search to find information that can help?  This is what recently happened with me.   A hard drive failed and we needed information on getting a new drive.

Web searching is just a part of information discovery now.  Now your prospects will turn to the web to find what they are looking for.  They might not even use a computer to do a search.  They might be searching using a smart phone or a tablet computing device.

Your marketing material needs to be timely and specific for the kinds of problems that you are solving.  General information is good sometimes but sometimes you have to be specific in the information that you are providing.

Search engine optimization is key here.  You need to know the keywords that your audience is using to search.  In the hard drive example, it was an older computer and it had a pata hard drive.  Pata hard drive is the search term that we typed into the search engine and the ebay website.  This returned the informative articles and products that we were looking for.

One thing to remember when you are creating your marketing material is the related information.  When looking for pata hard drive information there are other topics that are going to need to be covered too.  When you install a new hard drive, you are going to need device drivers.  You are also going to need information on installing an operating system.  This is information that is related to the main search terms.  Just remember to think about other related information when you are creating your online marketing content.

When people are looking for information, they will not stop until they find what they are looking for.  If your content doesn't provide the answer, the web searcher will immediately get off your site and get on to a better search result and solution.
